Short (tiers) and Sweet... Happy Birthday Caroline!

Today I dropped off this sweet little cake for a sweet little girl who was turning 2! Her mom wanted a cake that looked like a gift but that also was precious and sweet - both inside and out!

The terrific two year old's cake served 30 people (bottom tier - 8 inch round, top tier - 6 inch round) and this cake was structured a little bit different than the rest of my cakes. My normal tier height is 4 inches but they didn't need that many servings so the top tier is only 2 inches high. It was the perfect amount for every party guest to have one slice of cake.

The gift tag that clearly means... "this cake is for the birthday girl" adds to the overall theme of the cake looking like just another gift that Caroline could open, only the contents of this gift are completely edible! YUM! The loopy bow was an additional charge but put the "icing on the cake" for this little girl!

I had the pleasure of meeting Caroline's 5 year old brother. I asked him if he was going to have a big cake just like his sister's for his own birthday party. He said, "yeah but mine's going to be a Iron Man party!" It's a tall order but I'm up for the Iron Man Challenge, so hopefully his mom with continue ordering cakes from me!

"The cake was wonderful and I got so many compliments on how gorgeous and sweet it was!!! Thank you so much!!!!" -Bridget H.

Take me out to the ball game!

Today I hit a HOME RUN with a little boy named Brett. Named after George Brett, the Kansas City Royal's claim to fame, Brett was turning 1 and had to have a baseball themed cake. Here's what I came up with:

Brett's mom sent me a picture of a Royals uniform that hangs in Brett's room and I thought to myself... what goes better with a baseball then a personalized jersey?!?! Here's the picture of the uniform in reality and my version in a little smash cake.

The baseball cake was an 8 inch round red velvet cake that served 24. The jersey smash cake was a white cake that served exactly 1 little boy who was turning one! And by serve I mean enough cake for him to smash his tiny fists into and make a huge mess! Perfect for a photo op!

The Kansas City Royals may not have the best record in major league baseball but these fans were extremely happy with this cake. I think I hit it OUT OF THE PARK!
