I want to try to anticipate any questions you might have about my cakes and provide the answers here.
1.) How far in advance do I need to place an order?
The earlier, the better. I do cakes as a second job and work Monday through Friday. It is very helpful to know in advance for planning. Some custom cakes require items that might need to be made in advance such as gum paste or fondant items that may need to dry or require painting. If you are planning a wedding I ask for at least 2 to 3 months notice. Custom cakes require a two week or more notice so that all items needed for the cake can be in stock. I am limited to the number of cakes that I can produce each week, but I will try to accommodate everyone that I can.
2.) What are the prices of your cakes?
Prices for custom designed birthday and celebration cakes, excluding sculpted cakes vary based on size, decoration and specialty artwork involved. Sculpted cakes are priced by the project rather than the serving. Please email me for a price quote.
3.) How do I place an order?
Cake orders can be placed via phone, Facebook message, or email. If you prefer to meet in person and discuss your cake I will do that as well.
4.) Do I need to confirm my order?
Yes. Your order is not confirmed until I have a verbal or email confirmation. Email confirmations will be sent to you for your review and once it is returned to me you will be confirmed.
5.) What type of flavors do you have?
Just ask and I will see if I can accommodate your taste buds.
6.) What fillings are available and is there an additional cost for fillings?
Cakes that are layered would be filled with buttercream which is included in the cake price. Premium fillings are an additional charge.
7.) Why do I want my cake covered in fondant? Can fondant be used with a cake iced in buttercream?
Fondant doesn't appeal to everyone but is widely used in custom and specialty cakes to give a smooth finish and add details such as cut outs, flowers, and figurines. Cakes are iced with buttercream before the fondant is applied. Fondant details and accents can be added to a cake iced in buttercream.
8.) I don't like the way fondant taste is there another option?
Fondant doesn't appeal to everyone but fondant can also be infused with your favorite extract or flavoring. Many people order the fondant then peel it off when it's time to eat the cake. All cakes covered in fondant will be iced in buttercream underneath.
9.) Do you deliver?
Cakes can be picked up or delivered. I can deliver cakes throughout the Kansas City Metro area. Delivery charges may apply depending on the location. Please contact me if you are questioning your location and whether or not I can deliver to you.
10.) Do you do other baked goods?
Yes! I also make cupcakes, cookie cakes and other delicious treats. They can also be customized for your event. Let me know your ideas and theme and I can give you some suggestions.
